Popular polka broadcaster Greg Chwojdak ended a 33 year radio career on February 15, 2009. “Polkamotion,” Chwojdak’s weekly, three-hour program has aired in Buffalo, New York on radio station WXRL, 1300 AM for 23 years. Greg began his broadcasting career in 1976 playing polka music on International Cable. Over the past 33 years, Chwojdak hosted programs on WWOL-AM, WECK-AM and WXRL-AM.For many years, Greg was joined on-air by his late father, “Big Al” Chwojdak. The program has also including appearances by his Mother Bea Chwojdak, comic relief provided by Accordion Bill and wife Lynn. In addition to his radio program, Chwojdak has performed as a member of the Buffalo Concertina All Stars polka band, playing concertina and providing lead vocals.
